![]() And sometimes when I'm done with dinner and craving something sweet, instead of going for the ice cream, I cut open a grapefruit and am happier than could possibly be. ![]() Kale is more flavorful and satisfying to me (and hello to all the kale haters! Some people really do actually love it, not just because it's trendy. The best thing in life is when those healthy foods become "can't live without foods." For instance, when it comes to one of my all-time favorite meals, the Caesar salad, I'd actually rather have it made with kale than with romaine. And then a little angel on the other saying, "excuse me, I don't mean to impede, but have you considered having salmon for dinner, perhaps with some quinoa and spinach? Healthy fats and whole grains are quite important you know" My philosophy has always been "treat yourself!!" And then in smaller print, "just as long as you're also getting your daily vitamins and nutrients." It's basically like I have a little devil on one shoulder shoveling candy into my mouth. But you should also know that in spite of my sweet (and savory/fried food) tooth/teeth, I also have a love for many of the healthy foods in life. If you know anything about me, it's that I probably couldn't survive without donuts, cupcakes, and cookies and this blog is pretty much a reflection of those sweet loves of my life.
